Horse Plus Humane Society is the largest and most active horse welfare and rescue organization in the world. We are dedicated to preventing cruelty to horses, and prosecuting the cruelty inflictors to the full extent of the law. We work for the prevention of cruelty to horses and all other animals through education, voluntary compliance, law enforcement, and arrest and seizure if needed. At our shelter near Oroville Ca we typically have between 20 and 40 horses available for adoption to pre-approved adopters. Our staff and volunteers work together to do the greatest amount of good we can. We are a 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization that relies on your donations for all of the costs associated with animal welfare and care!

The shelter is located near Oroville, CA on 20 acres. We have the routine capacity of 35 horses, with overflow in an emergency situation of up to 100 horses.
Horse Plus Humane Society History
Horse Plus Humane Society began life in 2004 as NorCal Equine Rescue. Between 2004 and 2010, NorCal Equine Rescue grew and prospered thanks to the support of people just like you.
